APG is a full-spectrum, 21st century complex located in Harford County, Maryland. It has one of the Department of Defense's highest concentrations of scientific and engineering capabilities. The facilities and capabilities resident at APG are available to industry, academia, and other government agencies. Expertise ranges from basic research through technology development, testing and evaluation, and operational support. The APG Business Development Office (BDO) serves as a single point of contact to Aberdeen Proving Ground and promotes collaborations among federal agencies, state and local government, academia, and industry.
Biotechnology/Nanotechnology
Companies and organizations can access APG’s industry-leading biotechnology and nanomaterials capabilities. Services cover everything from assistance during the initial phases of research to 1,500-liter fermentation scale up.
Automotive Testing
APG is home to 40 miles of vehicle test courses and performance facilities including vertical walls, slopes, and fording basins. Test your product to SAE, FMVSS, and DoD standards (Test Operating Procedures) for steering, handling, stability, fuel consumption, braking, etc. APG offers access to extensive maintenance and repair shops and instrumentation suites offering data collection, transmission, and processing.
Homeland Security
For over 80 years, APG has led the Army and the nation in the fields of Chem-Bio Defense and armament testing and evaluation. Access specialized training, equipment testing and development capabilities in a wide range of technologies from hazmat suits and detectors to combat and civilian vehicles, aircraft, watercraft, and a wide variety of systems.
