TEDCO's eReadiness Maryland - Assessing our Digital Opportunities
Project Description:
To fund eReadiness Maryland, TEDCO received a $100,000 grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration, the federal funds are being leveraged with $145,000 from the State and $110,000 in non-State resources from our corporate sponsors.
Using a benchmarking model of assessment established by the Computer Systems Policy Project ( CSPP ) and implemented in the State of Ohio ( Ecom Ohio ), TEDCO will apply their tools to assess the eReadiness of Maryland, with a specific focus on the distressed areas, in order to achieve the following outcomes:
- Identify Infrastructure - Lay the groundwork for continued private and public sector investment in information technology infrastructure and utilization by identifying current and future obligations.
- Regional Performance - Determine each regions strengths and weaknesses in terms of capacity, access, and use of the information infrastructure.
- Build Action Agendas for Progress - Develop State and regional action agendas to boost the State's capacity in the digital economy and economic viability of the identified regions.
- Evaluate Progress - Measure progress on achieving goals.
Project Structure:
The assessment consisted of a Statewide Corporate and Management Steering Committee, as well as five regional steering committees - Western, Northern, Central, Southern, and the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Statewide Corporate Steering Committee:
Chairman was André Lynch, President and CEO of Ingenium Corporation, and Member, TEDCO Board of Directors.
